Row Addition With Carry

Addition can be performed by adding the digits at ones place and if the answer is more than 9 then we move the digit at tens in the answer to the digits at tens place to get the desired result.

For example let us solve the question

We will first add the digits at ones place that is 6, 5  and the result will be 11.

Now 11 is greater than 9 so the tens part of 11 that is 1 will be carried over to the tens place and 1 will be placed in the ones position of the answer

Then we will add the digits at tens place that is 8, 4 and that carry that is 1 and the result will be 13 which will be placed in the tens column of the answer

As  shown in the figure below

Hence the answer is 131
